Choosing Your Canvas 🎨

First things first, you’ll need a base for your edible artwork! A big takeaway box, a serving tray, a wooden board, or a fancy grazing platter will all work perfectly.

  • Line it Up: If you’re using a cardboard box or platter, place some foil on it first. You can also use wax paper or kitchen paper.
  • Green is Good: Add a layer of fresh rocket leaves for a pop of color. You can also use red coral lettuce. These greens help keep your goodies in place.

Building Your Party Platter Masterpiece 🍇🧀🫒

Now for the fun part – adding the food! Here’s how to make it look amazing:

Smoked Salmon Love: Don’t forget the smoked salmon or trout! Add this towards the end so it’s easy to grab and keep chilled.

Colour Play: Start with your lightest colored fruits, like green grapes. Cut them into small bunches and arrange them on your platter. Then add some red grapes, also in small bunches. Try to mix and match colour and textures for a beautiful and tasty spread.

Sweet Treats: Add some dates (take the seeds out first!), juicy strawberries, and creamy Bocconcini.

Crunchy Bites: Grab a few bags of your favorite crackers, biscuits, crostini, and breadsticks. Keep them fresh by wrapping them in plastic wrap until you’re ready to serve. No need to chill these if they’re sealed up tight!

Bowlfuls of Yum: Grab some small bowls for olives, sundried tomatoes, and roasted capsicum strips. Mix them up and add some cherry tomatoes for an extra burst of color.

Cheese Please: Now for the cheese! Leave any blue cheese until last so it doesn’t spread its mold to other foods. Slice up some Edam (take the wax off first) and Camembert, and arrange them around your platter.

Deli Delights: Add some pre-cut salami, pepperoni, and ham. If you can find them already in bite-size pieces, even better! Finish off with some slices of blue cheese.

Fancy Touches: For a touch of elegance, core a large tomato and fill it with mustard or chutney. Pop it on your platter with some ham and crackers. You can also decorate with herbs, edible flowers, and slices of rockmelon.

Keeping it Fresh ✨

Once your masterpiece is finished, pop it in the fridge. Don’t cover it for about 10 minutes. This allows it to cool down. Then, cover it to keep everything fresh. Covering also makes it easy to transport.

There you have it! Your very own stunning grazing platter, ready to wow your friends and family. Enjoy! 🎉
